Hamstring Stretch

The hamstrings attach to the lower part of the pelvis, so when they are tight, they may contribute to pelvic unleveling leading to low back pain.

 Easy Hamstring Stretch

We recommend stretching the hamstrings while lying on your back to take the stress off of the low back.  Loop a towel under the arch of one foot.  The other leg can either remain straight or slightly bent.  Slowly raise the other leg by pulling the towel toward your chest.  Keep the leg you are stretching straight.

There should be no pain.  If there is pain let your leg down slightly until all you can feel is the stretch.

Hold for 20-30 seconds.  Then switch to the other leg.  Repeat 2-3 times on each leg at least 2 times per day.
