11. Are Pediatric Chiropractic Adjustments Safe for Children?

Many adults have the misconception about chiropractic care that it is painful and very forceful.  So when Dr. Katie Sleigh, of Sleigh Family Chiropractic in Arlington Heights, IL, mentions she does chiropractic adjustments for many children and infants, she commonly gets gasps of disbelief and wide open, surprised eyes.  Sleigh asserts that pediatric chiropractic care is very safe for infants and children of all ages.  This does not mean that every child should be adjusted by a chiropractor.  However, Dr. Katie believes that every child should at least be checked by a chiropractor.

13. Heavy Backpacks May Contribute to Early Back Pain for Your Child

It seems more and more kids carry backpacks that are almost bigger than they are!  We frequently see kids who try to counter balance the weight of their back pack.  They bend forward at the waist, round their shoulders forward or tilt their chins upward. Kids are experiencing back pain at a much earlier age than in the past according to the American Chiropractic Association.  Heavy backpacks may be a contributing factor.

14. Can Infant Chiropractic Adjustments Help Babies Struggling to Breastfeed?

An excerpt from our August (2010) newsletter cites a new study published in the journal Pediatrics.
